Olink Bioscience is a privately held company based in Uppsala, Sweden, founded in 2004 by Prof. Ulf Landegren and partners. The company was initially founded on a portfolio of 12 patent cases, covering 4 technologies for advanced analyses of biomolecules pertaining to applications in basic research as well as in routine diagnostics. Today, the portfolio comprises 17 patent cases.
Olink Bioscience's first product Duolink™, based on in situ Proximity Ligation Assay Technology, was launched in June 2007. With this technology the scientist will be able to detect and visualise individual proteins, protein modifications and protein complexes in tissue and cell samples prepared for microscopy. Due to its requirement for proximal binding by two or more probes and by representing proteins as amplifiable DNA sequences both high specificity and sensitivity are obtained.

The Gilson legacy began in the 1940s, when Dr. Gilson, while a faculty member at the University of Winsconsin Medical School, began to design and develop specialised medical electronics and instrument that were not commercially available. One of his first efforts produced a Cathode Ray Recorder- an 18'' moving paper camera to record images from a cathode ray tube. It was later used around the world in cardiac catherisation labs. By the early 1950s, Gilson was developing electroencephalographs, oxographs, and physiological recorders.
Through the years, Gilson's product focus has moved from specialised instruments for physiological applications to automation instrumentation and chromatography systems for the drug discovery, proteomic, and genomic markets. GC biotech will focus on the manual liquid handling products like pipettes to complete its e-Piphany automation product line.
Bigneat manufactures clean air and hazard containment equipment for Laboratories and Industry including; Microbiological Safety Cabinets, PCR, Robotic & Analytical System Enclosures. UV is effectively utilised in both the Bigneat UV Sterilisation Cabinet and the Bigneat PCR Workstation. The PCR Workstation additionally protects against contamination by bathing the PCR apparatus in sterile air and limiting risk of contamination from the operator’s arms, or from any equipment bought into the otherwise sterile environment. A positive pressure ensures that there is no ingress of airborne contaminants from the surrounding laboratory environment.
